“The trouble with eating Italian food is that five or six days later you're hungry again. ” - George Miller

A woman’s prerogative*

I reviewed Strada in Wilmslow not so long ago. From memory, I gave it an ok write up. Well *I’ve changed my mind.

After a return visit last night, several points have been deducted for poor service. If I have to wave my menu in the air to get some attention, that’s not good. And to be left waiting so long to order the dessert that we have enough time to change our minds from dessert, to coffees, to ’sod it let’s just get the bill life’s too short to wait this long’ when there are only four tables occupied at the end of an evening, is also pretty poor.

A couple of my dining companions had received the same level of service on previous visits. I don’t think we’ll be rushing back.

  1. I completely agree with that – I went to Strada in Wilmslow end of last year, couldn’t get anyone to take the order, took ages for any food to come out and then we got our bread and olives AFTER the main course. Was a joke. But the one in Spinningfields is really good, strangely.
