“The trouble with eating Italian food is that five or six days later you're hungry again. ” - George Miller

Flavouring? What flavouring?

I know, I shouldn’t be such a sucker for marketing hype, but I saw one of the new Walkers Crisp flavours whilst out buying my lunch, and thought I’d give it a try. They have a promotion going where you vote for your favourite out of six new trial flavours, and the winner is the one that they keep as their next ‘great’ flavour.

I picked up a packet of Fish & Chip flavour. Sounded like a great idea (as opposed to the Cajun Squirrel, which didn’t really float my boat).

I’ve never eaten anything that tastes less like Fish & Chips. I would say that in a blind taste test I would have guessed at Worcestershire Sauce.

How disappointing. But then, I should know better. As Michael Winner would probably say, “it’s just a marketing ploy!”

Update: Strangely, when I burp, it tastes of Fish & Chips.  Disturbing…

    Fish and chips?

Ok, but chips are made of potato as are crisps, so they are essentially saying they are fish flavoured. Or if I was being generous, salt and vinegar flavour with essence of fish.

Meh. Give me beefy monster munch or give me death!

And also, don’t those American types call crisps ‘chips’? So for them it’s Fish & Crisps…my head hurts….

And beefy monster munch? Pickled onion every time sir, every time.
