I think it's worth mentioning that Ludlow Food Centre is not actually situated in Ludlow but in Bromfield which is two miles north. The name is designed to capitalise on Ludlow's synonymity with food. Opinion is divided over whether this place actually offers anything exceptional or not - see comments on Trip Advisor.

The food festival in Ludlow is fantastic and well worth a visit. It's packed with local and high end food and drink producers. There are great food retailers in Ludlow too including superb deli's, butchers, fishmongers and bakers. It has its fair share of sub-standard eateires but also some consistently superb ones.

The cafe/coffee shop offer is generally tired, unimaginative and dire.

The area of South Shropshire and Herefordshire are generally awash with superb independent and local producers of all kinds. It takes minimal effort to find them if you look.

If you're looking for good food not far from Ludlow try The Stagg Inn at Titley, North Herefordshire. Excellent food, service and atmosphere and the pricing is highly competitive.

I seem to have missed noticing this update. The trip to Menorca and the lost passport sounds like a story in itself.

I have a feeling I may have stopped off in Ludlow once after visiting Hay on Wye. I can't remember a thing about it though.
